# Signals

> Create and manage signal triggers that detect relevant changes across your people and companies.

Signal triggers watch records and produce signal events when Clay detects a relevant change. A trigger can watch a table view, one or more Audiences segments, or every record of its entity type.

## Available signal types

| Signal type | What triggers it | Setup |
| - | - | - |
| Job change | A tracked person changes companies | Web, CLI |
| Job posting | A tracked company posts a job that matches your criteria | Web, CLI |
| New hire | A tracked company hires someone who matches your criteria | Web, CLI |
| Promotion | A tracked person's title advances at their company | Web, CLI |
| News and fundraising | A tracked company appears in relevant news or announces funding | Web, CLI |
| Person topic intent | A tracked person researches a topic you configured | Web, CLI |
| Company topic intent | A tracked company researches a topic you configured | Web, CLI |
| Custom | A custom enrichment you configured detects a change | Web |
| Web intent | An identified company or person visits your website | Web |

Custom and Web intent signal triggers are configured in the Clay web app. Their signal events are still available through Audiences.

## Use the CLI

Use `clay signals` to create and manage CLI-supported signal triggers. Run the built-in help for the current commands, inputs, JSON output, errors, and examples:

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
clay signals --help
```
